Created on a residency with X presents... in Harold Hill, Essex.
Havering has an extrodinary number of supposedly haunted sights. In this work I have chosen to visit three of those sites and photograph them. In this work the landscape and buildings are explored and their potential in view of their historical and mythical significance. Photographs of Dagnam Park, Hornchurch County Park and The Golden Lion pub are projected in the space on a timed loop. Infamous locally, these sites are said to be haunted according to popular myth. The work explores how the viewer’s expectations of the work changes when it is viewed in the context of the paranormal.
